Dalton Community Historical Museum (continued)

It was moved to the present site in 1979 by the Historical Society which had received a major contribution from Mrs. Mary Wertz Williams, a former Dalton resident who lived in Three Forks, Montana. She passed away December 22, 1984 at the age of 94.

Only part of the building was salvageable since two additions added later were in a state of ruin. Over the years siding has been used to cover the logs. The building was completely renovated inside and out. An iron fence, installed in front was formerly at the Dalton Cemetery. Useable pieces were welded by the late Cullen McFarren to make it what it is today. Members donated the labor for the renovations.
